These are Times for Irony

These are unquestionably ironic times. Every day brings something ironic into focus. Three ironies come to mind today.

The first is that the self appointed greatest nation on the planet is getting it's butt whupped by a virus while the citizens of some “shit hole countries” are doing OK. Not all the S. H. Countries mind you but some.

A second is that less than a year ago some of us were running around all bent out of shape because some of our new citizens had their faces covered. Now we are running around distressed because some of us don't have our faces covered.

The third and possibly the saddest is that if Derek Chauvin, a man who rendered astonishing new meaning to the expression “taking a knee”, had opted for five minutes or even six minutes on George Floyd's neck we would never have heard about it. Floyd would be alive and that kind of behaviour would continue unacknowledged.
