Exactly when is the right time to panic?

We rely on airlines, buses and taxis. Now we hear of friends arriving at airports and finding out their flights have been cancelled. They are left scrambling for bus tickets to Mexico Cd. to make connections. Hard thing to sort out is the truth value of this, given general foreigner paranoia and negativity about Mexican authorities. My last report of this comes from people I trust and it makes me sweat as I plan my exit to Mexico CD. on a local carrier. Most recent check tells me I am OK.
